Photographic series that brings together images taken in Venice and photographs of old apartment blocks in Alūksne, a small town in Latvia. By placing these contrasting environments side by side, the work explores differences in architecture, atmosphere, history, and cultural perception. At the same time, unexpected visual similarities begin to emerge through colour, texture, composition, and signs of everyday life. The series reflects on how places that appear distant and fundamentally different can still share subtle connections.
